Happy November to you! It feels like we start to catch quick glimpses of the holiday season just after Halloween ends. We help couples choose design elements and plan weddings that allows them to celebrate their relationships but also their families throughout the year, which is why our roles allow us to feel as though we’re celebrating November’s core – family and gathering – all year long. Let’s take a look back at October!
We started October off by spending the month’s first weekend at The Horticulture Center with Hanna and John. You may have seen the beauty Faye & Renee created for the pair’s florals on Instagram. But, if you haven’t, you have to take a peek. Next up was Pari and Tyler’s Union League fete. These two planned a gorgeous and elegant celebration, but we wouldn’t expect anything else at their venue! Our final wedding of October was with Lisa and Elias at The Logan – one of our favorite hotels. If you’re planning a Philadelphia wedding, you need to consider this venue!
Did you stop by our blog this month? We shared all of the trends we will be watching in 2018 from Bridal Fashion Week! Designers showcased some seriously beautiful dresses, and you won’t want to miss this post. Plus, Kelsey and Max and Catherine and Ian’s respective weddings are up too! We’re talking more about Catherine and Ian below, but Kelsey and Max’s end of summer wedding at Saucon Valley Country Club’s Weyhill Guest House is filled with ivory, green, and blue, plus so many classic details.
Before you go, we’re sharing the best tips we’ve found for saving your wedding cake’s top tier, two venues we cannot wait to visit with couples soon, and Philadelphia’s top restaurants to visit in the fall (a post-Thanksgiving date with your bridesmaids is definitely in order!).
Make sure to keep following along on Instagram for all the latest on our real weddings and more! Cheers to a fabulous November!

Real Wedding:
We think we work with stylish brides and grooms, but Catherine and Ian may win the award for Most Stylish. These two celebrated their union at Terrain in Glen Mills. Catherine spent the morning getting ready on site before her first look with Ian, which her bridesmaids watched – so fun! The pair snapped pictures around the property before their ceremony while guests were welcomed with refreshments. The Terrain team accented their already beautiful space with ivory blooms and greenery for the ceremony, which took place in their garden. Post vows, Catherine and Ian joined their guests for cocktail hour on the porch before celebrating inside amongst hanging greenery, tons of candles, and lovely stationery details. With Love & Embers captured this wedding so well, and there’s much more on our blog!

Now Trending:
One of the key questions we always ask couples is whether they are planning to save the top tier of their wedding cake to enjoy on their first anniversary. We happened upon a great post from Philadelphia Wedding on how to properly save the top tier (yes, there’s a method!), and we knew we needed to share it with you. Our takeaways: store your cake in a refrigerator first, have plastic wrap on hand, and eventually thaw your cake for 24 hours next year.
Q: Do you have any new wedding venues to recommend?
A: One of the best things about Philadelphia’s wedding industry is there are always new wedding venues or ones to rediscover! Last month, we attended a press preview for Terrain’s new location in Devon (it will open next year!), as well as a dinner at Grounds for Sculpture with Starr Events in Princeton to reintroduce this gem.

Around Town:
We may be biased, but we think Philadelphia’s restaurant scene is one of the best! Rather than simply ranking the top 50 restaurants in our city, which is no small task, Philadelphia Magazine gathered together their top picks for the fall. This means their list will change with every season! Gather your girlfriends together for a fun night out (a great way for your bridesmaids to meet!), or plan a date night with your beau.
