Happy December to you! Our 2017 wedding season has come to a close, but don’t let that fool you. We still have many, many weddings to share from this year, and we’re already well into all of the plans for 2018 celebrations. As we welcome the holiday season and look ahead to January, let’s take a look back at November.
Before we celebrated Thanksgiving with our nearest and dearest, we designed, planned, and styled two weddings for two wonderful couples. We visited the Horticulture Center for our first soiree – we just can’t stay away. And, we revisited one of the most picturesquely modern venues in Philadelphia, the Barnes Foundation. We will be sharing pictures soon, so stay tuned!
November was also filled with nominations and videos. We are so honored to have received the 2018 The Knot Best of Weddings award! When we heard the news, we couldn’t help but think back on all of the reviews we received from YOU this year. Thank you for always saying such wonderful things; they keep us going. We also loved reliving Lisa and Lou’s wedding day through watching (and re-watching) their video by Tweed Video. We’re sharing more about their wedding day below, so make sure to keep reading.
We’ve made trips to New Hope in beautiful Bucks County and fêted Hotel Palomar’s newest Catering Director, Gary Abramson. And, there’s more to come in December! We’re most excited to spend the night celebrating with our fellow friends and professionals as Philadelphia Wedding Magazine launches their newest issue at the Horticulture Center.
Our go-to makeup artist and licensed esthetician, Beke Beau, is sharing her best for keeping your skin hydrated during the winter, we’re sharing the details behind an event you can attend (!!), we’re up for an award, and so much more.
Happy a wonderful holiday season + cheers to 2018!

Real Wedding:
Lisa and Lou’s wedding was a joy to plan in October. The pair celebrated both their ceremony and reception at The Logan, and we were able to team up with so many of our favorite Philadelphia wedding professionals for their wedding day! After spending the morning getting ready, Lisa and Lou kicked off their wedding day with a first look in the courtyard of The Logan. She walked down the aisle on the arm of her father during their indoor ceremony, and we have to say how incredible the décor and flowers looked thanks to Fleur de Lis. Calla lilies, orchids, roses, and more in shades of pink, purple, ivory, and green looked stunning throughout the reception, and we love how excited L+L were when they entered the space for the first time! We will be sharing much more on our blog, but make sure to take a peek at photographer Alison Dunn’s blog in the meantime.

This month we ask makeup artist and, in our opinion, guru Beke Beau your top winter skin question…
Q: What is the best way for brides to keep their skin hydrated during the winter?
Beke Beau: In the colder months, we’re subjected to dry, heated air that draws moisture from your skin very easily. It is absolutely critical to use a richer moisturizer after cleansing at night, and protecting the skin during the day with a more emollient SPF product, like Paula’s Choice Redness Relief SPF 30 Mineral Moisturizer for Normal to Dry Skin – my personal favorite. Make sure you understand the active ingredients in your products so that you don’t overuse or combine chemical exfoliants like alpha hydroxy and glycolic acids – that will create even more dryness. Be consistent with a simple routine, and your skin will thank you!
