As with any month during wedding season, June was busy (in the best way!) for our team! On many occasions, we were serving multiple couples throughout each weekend while we traveled to Philadelphia, Bucks County, Montgomery County, and Brooklyn. During these weekends, logistics and expert planning ahead played a huge role. And we’re happy to report each wedding was a sweet success! A quick peek at our Instagram feed will give you a behind the scenes look into all of June’s many soirees.
Throughout July, we will all be pausing when possible to enjoy the very best the summer season has to offer in Philadelphia. One of the events we’re most excited for is the Democratic National Convention. We’re thrilled Philadelphia was chosen to host such an esteemed occasion, but we have to admit we’re even more ecstatic about the surrounding events it will bring to the city. One of those events is 14 Movements, which we’re describing much more below! We can reveal that the installation is the site for our bride and groom’s first look on July 16, so stay tuned to our Instagram where we will definitely post a sneak peek. We’re also looking forward to bouquets filled with bright in season summer blooms (check out our Q&A section!), and we’re planning when we can turn to Lexi from EverLaser for a few of our upcoming weddings.
Although July 4th may be the height of the summer season, we’re in the midst of planning many more weddings for this season and the next. Still on deck for the summer: soirees at Davio’s, The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, The Kimmel Center, Glenn Foerd Estate, and The National Constitution Center. Make sure you’re following along on Facebook and Pinterest to continue to view our summer happenings and pieces of inspiration!
Here’s to a patriotic July and a wonderful month of summer from The Styled Bride Team!
Real Wedding: On June 27, 2015, we were honored to plan and style Jillian and Dave’s wedding at the Please Touch Museum! The pair were married at Congregation Rodeph Shalom in Philadelphia, which has one of the most gorgeous interiors. Jillian walked down the aisle in a stunning tulle gown designed by Monique Lhuillier and carried an equally beautiful bouquet from Love ‘n Fresh Flowers. By the time their reception began, it had become one of the rainiest June days. However, once inside J+D happily snapped photos in many of the museum’s whimsical exhibits with their photographer Olya Vysotskaya Photography. Brulee Catering created all of the night’s cuisine, tables were lined with more blooms by Love ‘n Fresh, and the dance floor was filled for the entire night. Happy First Anniversary, Jillian and David! Your wedding is still one of our most memorable.
Now Trending: We are longtime fans of Lexi Eveleth who is the creative business owner behind Ever Laser. Lexi creates custom laser-cut details for businesses, interiors, and, most importantly, weddings. From monograms to cake toppers, drink stirrers and anything you can imagine, each of her pieces is custom made in her South Philadelphia studio. We can’t wait to work with her, and you can learn much more on Philadelphia Wedding!

Q: What are a few go to in season flowers for summer bouquets and centerpieces?
A: “One of my favorite flowers reaches peak season during the summer and early fall: dahlias! They’re available in a host of colors and varieties (Dinner Plate Dahlias are incredible), and they look gorgeous in bouquets and centerpieces alike. Lisianthus is another favorite flower along with zinnias, roses, astilbe, and hydrangea.” – Carly Totten, Styled Bride Wedding Coordinator & Carly is Inspired Floral Stylist
Around Town: We’re looking forward to seeing Tyler School of Art graduate Matt Tomezsko’s mile long work 14 Movements: A Symphony in Color and Words when Broad Street receives an update in honor of the Democratic National Convention. The temporary mural will stretch for a mile on South Broad Street on a raised platform, and it’s going to be an incredible addition.
