Happy September to you! We’re always thrilled to welcome you to another edition of the Styled Note, especially when we’re prepping for our fall wedding season. There is so much on the horizon for The Styled Bride and our couples, and we cannot wait to begin sharing the details with you. But first, let’s take a look back at August.
The beginning of August was filled with putting final plans in motion for our weddings, and we also saw a few of our couples featured online! We spent a beautiful day in New Hope last summer for Elisabeth and Jeff’s tented wedding day, and the pair are on Borrowed and Blue. Their fete was hosted at Elisabeth’s family home, and it was such a treat to work with a few of our favorite wedding professionals, such as Love Me Do Photography, Fleur de Lis, and Max Hansen. Crystal and Mike were also featured on Borrowed earlier in August. As we prep to return to The Horticulture Center this weekend for two weddings, it’s only fitting that we revisit their day. A bright color palette, unique Mandap, and a very fun couple await you!
Last month, we planned, coordinated, and styled weddings for our couples at a lovely estate, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, the Kimmel Center, and the National Constitution Center. It’s safe to say we’re very fortunate to have visited a few of the city’s most iconic venues in the same month! On the docket for September are two weddings at the Horticulture Center (this weekend, no less!), Eagle Oaks Golf Club, the Sheraton Eatontown, New Jersey, and Barley Sheaf Farm (the countdown is on for this wedding).
We’re sharing details on Courtney and Jason’s New Jersey wedding day, our go-to garden wedding venues, when to start shopping for your wedding dress, and more below! Before you keep reading, though, make sure you’re following along on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest, and you’re also the first to know we’re launching details for an October calligraphy workshop at our studio this month!
Happy (almost!) fall from The Styled Bride Team!

June 11, 2016! Even though the weather was a little unpredictable on their wedding day, we worked together with C+J’s stellar team of wedding professionals to ensure they had the most memorable day with their family and friends. Stone Rows Farm was an ideal setting for a barn wedding complete with feminine details. Emily Wren Photography captured fabulous photos, Love ‘n Fresh Flowers designed a beautiful ceremony space, personal flowers, and centerpieces, and Max Hansen was on hand creating delicious cuisine! Now Trending: We shared the second installment in our venue series last month all about Philadelphia’s best garden wedding locations! With its outdoor gardens and indoor greenhouse, the Horticulture Center absolutely made our list. We’re also so partial to terrain weddings – the space is so unique, and their team is incredible! Plus, we planned a wedding at Hotel du Village in New Hope in May, and we cannot wait to return. There are so many more spaces to see here!
Philadelphia Wedding: How soon is too soon to start dress shopping?
Ivy Kaplan: “If finding a dress is one of your top priorities then shopping early is a great idea. Having your gown can often help plan other parts of the wedding, like what style of bouquet you want and what color your bridesmaids will wear. If you do find a dress you love early on but don’t want to commit to it right away, just be sure to ask the bridal salon how long they think the style will be available—some designers discontinue gowns more frequently than others.” We adore Ivy, and we interviewed her for our Styled Spotlight series!
Around Town: Whether you’re shopping for bridesmaids’ dresses, accessories, details, or your wedding dress, we love BHLDN! The Philadelphia based brand just launched their fall collection, and it’s definitely a must-see. We’re coveting this dress for your bridesmaids, this jumpsuit for your rehearsal dinner, these earrings for your wedding day, and this clutch! Of course, there are a number of fantastic wedding dresses too, so take a peek at the latest fall finds.
