The Styled Note – March 2018

Happy March to you! The arrival of warmer temperatures means spring is on the horizon, and our 2018 wedding season is underway. What could be better? Before we fully dive into March, let’s take a peek back on everything that happened in February.

Just like the rest of Philadelphia, we were cheering for the Eagles and their historic Super Bowl win. Before our city became the home of the Super Bowl Champions, we kicked off a fun weekend with a Super Bowl Party Kit from Brulee Catering. Tori and Tiffany are wonderful, and Brulee Catering is the team you will find at many of Philadelphia’s top venues, including the Please Touch Museum, Constitution Center, and Museum of the American Revolution. Few things are better than chocolates from Aurora Grace Chocolates, and we also enjoyed our pre-Valentine’s Day treat from Chef Aurora herself!

Our spring wedding prep is happening, and that means February was also filled with meetings with our core group of wedding professional friends. We cannot wait to reveal the latest suites Papertree Studios and Chick Invitations are designing, respectively. And, we always love meeting with the Philadelphia String Quartet! Did you know they are the number one team we recommend for ceremony musicians? A month isn’t quite complete without a venue visit, so we were back at Saucon Valley Country Club as we began the planning process for a January 2019 wedding (yes, we are already booking 2019 celebrations!).

Before you start reading about our latest real wedding, the best places to find wedding dresses in Philadelphia, and our top tip about organizing RSVPs, you simply must watch Alaina and James’ wedding video by CinemaCake. We have a short roster of videographers we highly recommend, and CinemaCake is always at the top of our list. If you want to see even more of A+J’s wedding, it’s right here on the blog!

We hope you have a great month! Make sure you’re following along on Facebook and Instagram for the latest.

Real Wedding:

Do you remember seeing this photo on Instagram? To date, it’s still our most liked photo ever! And, we’re thrilled to share more about Hanna and John’s wedding day. Hanna mentioned how much she loves flowers, and the team from Faye and Renee took note. H+J were surprised with the beautiful floral chandelier hanging over their head table, and seeing the joy on Hannah’s face as their surprise was revealed was something we won’t soon forget. Not only were there flowers beautiful, but we also loved so many of their other details too. Their cake was from Cake Life, their floral wall was by Nicol Floral Design, and they also had rentals from our go-to, Maggpie Vintage Rentals. Plus, Hanna and John’s band, EBE Entertainment’s LA Starz, was incredible and made sure this group who loved to dance was on the floor for the entire night. There are so many more photos we can’t wait to share from Pat Furey Photography!

Now Trending:

We are always asked for our recommendations for where to shop for wedding dresses, and Philadelphia Wedding just released the list of all lists detailing the best bridal boutiques in the city and beyond! There are 19 shops included, and we can personally recommend many of them too. Lovely Bride and Philly Bride are two fun and great boutiques in the city, while Elizabeth Johns boasts one of the most luxurious collections in Ardmore.

Q: What is the best way to manage RSVPs so I don’t become overwhelmed?

A: Before you mail your invitations to your guests, take a moment to assign a number to each guest in a spreadsheet. Then, note the number(s) on the back of each RSVP. Sometimes guests do not write their name on their RSVP when they return it (yes, really!), and the number on the back will allow you to quickly determine who it is from! You will never have to send an email or write a Facebook post in an attempt to find a guest. It’s the best method!

Around Town:

There are 13 new hotels that will soon begin construction or open their doors in Philadelphia! It’s wonderful news for couples and event planners alike because we know you are always looking for new places to enjoy in the city, and we’re always thrilled to present new getting ready, rehearsal dinner, and wedding venues. A few notable hotels from the list are the Four Seasons Hotel, W Hotel and Element, and Lokal Fishtown (their Old City location is one to know!).
