Although Hannah and Ryan met in New York City, they decided to celebrate their wedding day in another town that has become very special to them: Stockton, New Jersey. Knowing they wanted an escape from the city, H+R stumbled upon a beautiful farmhouse tucked away amongst the trees a few minutes outside of New Hope, Pennsylvania. Not only did their home quickly become their favorite retreat, but it also acted as the perfect backdrop to set the scene for their spring soiree in early May.
During the days leading up to their celebration, we all carefully watched the weather. The forecast initially looked like perfect conditions were on the horizon, but we soon realized our rain plan might need to be put into place. A second tent was pitched just in case, a covered ceremony was in the works, and then the forecast changed once more. The rain that had been threatened for their entire day was now only a possibility late in the evening, which meant Hannah and Ryan’s property could be on full display for their guests to experience.
While A Cottage Gardener transformed the stone ruins of the once standing farmhouse into a gorgeous arched floral backdrop outside, Hannah and Ryan both spent their mornings inside their home. Hannah and her bridesmaids enjoyed hair, makeup, and cocktails upstairs, and Ryan and his groomsmen got ready downstairs.
As guests arrived for the ceremony, they were greeted with welcome drinks they could sip while they waited to take their seats. The ceremony began as Ryan and his groomsmen walked down the aisle, which started at the beginning of H+R’s home and wrapped around the stone ruins. Hannah walked down the aisle with her father while “Cowboy Take Me Away” by the Dixie Chicks played, which served as a special nod to her Arkansas roots.
Once they were officially Mr. and Mrs., Hannah and Ryan captured portraits with India Earl during golden hour. Guests mingled together among the ruins for cocktail hour, and Hannah and Ryan joined the fun post-photos. We have to note – The Roving Bar was one of our favorite details during this part of the evening!
Their reception began the moment Clara Jordan Band hit their first note. Guests were welcomed into the tent, which featured farmhouse tables lined with greenery, neutral florals, and plenty of taper candles. The look was beautiful, romantic, and just a little bit rustic, which was represented H+R’s style and their home perfectly.
Hannah and Ryan danced to “Memories of Us” by Keith Urban, guests were treated to a family style menu by Just Food, and Hannah and her dad danced to a song they wrote together when she was little. Guests remained on the dance floor until the moment Hannah and Ryan’s reception came to a close. Many remained for the pair’s after party, which kicked off right after the band played their final song.
The rain held, Hannah and Ryan enjoyed a gorgeous wedding day, and this celebration for two wonderful people quickly became one we won’t soon forget from this season.
