The Styled Note – October

Happy October to you! We wrapped up our September weddings last weekend in weather that still felt like summer, so we are excited for these new fall days. We spent Labor Day weekend at the Marriott Downtown Philadelphia before heading to the Long Beach Island Foundation of Arts and Sciences the following weekend (there’s more below!). We had two more weddings last month – one at the beautiful Reeds at Shelter Haven in Stone Harbor and a second at one of our favorite downtown locations, The Constitution Center.

September also brought us quite a few features, which we shared on Facebook (are you following along for updates?). Hannah and David’s celebration was one of the most whimsical we have planned to date! They tied the knot at one of our go-to venues, The Horticulture Center, and we were able to team up with Starr Catering, La Petite Fleur, Maggpie Vintage Rentals, and photographer Teddy Wolff. You will want to see all of the details on Philly in Love. Plus, Monica and Andrew’s wedding at The Kimmel Center was a wonderful example of a beautiful modern fete. To this day, we still think about Monica’s Reem Acra gown, their stunning portrait session with their wedding party and family thanks to Asya Photography, and all of the florals thoughtfully designed by Sullivan Owen. You do not want to miss M+A’s wedding on Red Oak Weddings!

Our first two weddings of October are in just a few days. We will be spending our weekend at The Horticulture Center, and we wouldn’t have it any other way! Plus, we have two more soirees in the works. We are in the midst of finalizing all of the details for a fabulously elegant celebration at The Union League, and October will come to an exciting close with a fete at The Logan. Make sure you’re following along on Instagram because we always share sneak peeks there first!

Before you go, take a peek at this month’s features below. We’re talking more about Mollie and Andrew’s LBI wedding, Bridal Fashion Week (all of the designers are debuting their spring gowns this weekend in NYC!), and revealing a new Terrain venue (you know we can’t wait to plan here!), and more.

Have a fantastic October!

xoxo,

Real Wedding:

We cannot think of a better way to have kicked off September than celebrating Mollie and Andrew’s wedding day! M+A rented a beautiful beach home on LBI directly across from their venue, which allowed their day to feel even more relaxed. They both spent the morning getting ready at the house, and then they walked across the street to the beach for their first look. Needless to say, it was an awesome moment! Their ceremony was flower filled, thanks to Love ‘n Fresh Flowers, yet the ocean and beach were still in full view. Plus, their adorable dog, Fozzie, was their ring bearer. Post ceremony, the new Mr. and Mrs. arrived at the Long Beach Island Foundation of Arts and Sciences for their reception. More blooms lined the tables, but the true stunner was the floral chandelier hanging over the dance floor! Everything about Mollie and Andrew’s wedding day matched their sweet personalities to a T, and we’re so thankful we worked with another one of our favorite pros, Alison Dunn Photography.

Now Trending:

Bridal Market or Bridal Fashion Week kicks off this weekend! All of the top designers have descended upon New York City to showcase their latest collections. A few designers will show options perfect for fall weddings, but spring styles will be far more popular. Of course, we can’t wait to see the latest from Reem Acra and Monique Lhuillier. We’ve offered a peek behind Bridal Fashion Week in the past, so take a look before we post a blog next week!

Philadelphia Wedding Magazine Wedding Welcome Station | www.thestyledbride.com

Q: What is a wedding welcome station, and do I need one?

A: A wedding welcome station typically greets guests at your ceremony, and they are a wonderful detail to have. Think about offering light refreshments (lemonade and fruit infused water are perfect!) and a small bite or two. Remember, anything you use here – florals, furniture – can likely be repurposed for your reception, so it won’t just be used once! We’re sharing even more in the spring edition of Philadelphia Wedding Magazine, and the sneak peek from the shoot is above.

Around Town:

Did you hear the news? Terrain is opening a second venue in Devon, and it will be called Terrain Gardens. It looks like it will be just as fabulous as Terrain’s Glen Mills location, but this space will include details like reclaimed wood walls and floors, string lights draped across beams inside the space, as well as an outdoor garden, bridal suite, and more. We cannot wait to plan an event here next fall!
