The Styled Note – September

Happy September to you! We cannot believe this summer is about to come to a close, but we are welcoming everything fall has to offer with open arms, including the start of our fall wedding season. First, let’s take a look back at August.

Traditionally speaking, August is not always a popular month to get married. However, a few of our biggest weddings of the year happened in August! We started off the month with a bang at Terrain for Catherine and Ian’s celebration. This Glen Mills, PA venue is perfect for more intimate weddings. Plus, there is simply nothing like the style at Terrain – barn wood style tables, bistro lighting, porches perfect for cocktails, and plenty of ambiance for couples and guests alike due to the beautiful grounds.

Next, we coordinated and styled Kelsey and Max’s wedding at Saucon Valley Country Club’s Weyhill Guest House. We have much more to say about the pair below, but they were graced with beautiful August weather after quite a downpour during their rehearsal! You will have to keep reading below to hear more about their day.

August ended with a soiree at The Logan, which is always an elegant and modern venue right in the heart of one of Philadelphia’s most iconic areas. Alaina and James recited their vows during the final month of August, and it was our favorite way to end such an outstanding month of planning, celebrating, and styling with and for our couples!

This past weekend, we kicked off our September weddings at the Marriott Downtown Philadelphia. We’re also already in the midst of planning celebrations at the Long Beach Island Foundation of Arts and Sciences, The Reeds at Stone Harbor, and the Constitution Center. September is going to be a great month, and we hope it will be for you too!

In addition to details about Kelsey and Max’s wedding, we’re also sharing the sweetest video from our most recent Cape May wedding, how to best plan a wedding when you don’t live in your wedding’s town, our top picks to invite your guests for welcome drinks in Philadelphia, and more! Make sure to keep reading below.

Let’s make it a great month!

Real Wedding:

Kelsey and Max’s wedding day was one for the books! The pair reside in Boston, but they decided to return home to two of their favorite places, Lehigh University and Saucon Valley Country Club. One of our favorite moments of the day was when the new Mr. and Mrs. were celebrated by their guests with a rose petal toss as they exited Packer Memorial Church on Lehigh’s campus! Cocktail hour was spent on the lawn at the Weyhill Guest House with beautiful views of the golf course and creek beyond. K+M were welcomed into their tented reception by City Social Band, and the crew kept the dance floor packed all night long (even as rain began to fall outside!). We loved working with Amanda D’Andrea, Face the Occasion, Allium Floral Design, Tweed Video, and Eventions Productions. Of course, we cannot wait to see even more sneak peeks and all of the official photos from Liz Banfield!

Now Trending:

One of our favorite weddings from the entire summer was Jeannie and David’s Cape May celebration! You will hear us talking about it for quite some time because it truly was that incredible. CinemaCake posted the best sneak peek video from J+D’s day, and Jeannie sent us the loveliest review on The Knot. You need to get to know this couple more because we adored transforming Jeannie’s Cape May family home for their wedding day.

Q: How can we best work with a wedding planner when we don’t live in the city (or state!) where our wedding will take place?

A: We work with couples who are planning their weddings from out of state, but sometimes they are also living outside of the country! Flexibility is key, and we recommend making sure your planner and vendors are not only aware of where you live but also open to the fact that you may need to speak during hours outside of their normal business hours. Check in with mood boards and Pinterest pages often, and make sure you’re receiving updated planning schedules and checklists.

Around Town:

One of the best things you can do for your guests is to kick off your wedding weekend with a welcome party. But, your welcome party does not have to be elaborate! Philadelphia has some of the best bars, and many boast incredible views of the city. This article is a great piece for you to use while you plan because the suggestions are fabulous! Continental Midtown, Assembly, Stratus Rooftop Lounge, R2L Restaurant, and the Moshulu are just a few of our favorites.
