Happy June to you! There’s so much to enjoy about spring weddings – palettes are filled with soft shades, the weather is just right, and everything feels like it’s in bloom for our couples and their portraits – but, we are happily awaiting summer’s official start! Bright palettes and warm days are on the horizon, plus a host of beautiful venues, so we ready for our June weddings to officially kickoff! We’ll share more about where we’re heading below, but first let’s take a look back at May.
One of the highlights of May was last weekend’s wedding at La Peg! The day began at Hotel Monaco (you need to see this photo captured by Alison Dunn!) where Allie got ready. Then she and Jeremy recited their vows at Race Street Pier before weaving their industrial-meets-whimsical style together at La Peg (one of our favorite details was this wreath by Love ‘n Fresh Flowers). It was such a unique day we won’t soon forget, and we will be sure to share photos on our blog soon – stay tuned! Allie also was so gracious to leave us a review on The Knot right before she and Jeremy left on their honeymoon. These two are the best!
Our Styled Day series is back on our blog! This time, we’re chatting with Kerri from Starr Restaurants. There’s a peek at Kerri’s feature below, and you won’t want to miss reading her entire day. Plus, we are thrilled to be featured on Every Last Detail again. We’re sharing a few behind-the-scenes thoughts below, plus all of the particulars about Beth and Evan’s wedding and more!
Make sure you’re following along on Instagram and Facebook, especially this month, because we’re traveling around Philadelphia and beyond to plan, design, and style an intimate wedding at Morris House Hotel (a new favorite venue – we love their team!), a daytime fete at Church of the Good Sheppard with catering by Fette Sau, a classic soiree at the Merion Cricket Club, and a incredible celebration at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel.
Have a wonderful June + happy summer!

Real Wedding: Beth is a southern girl who vowed to complete her residency in Philadelphia and then return to her roots in St. Louis; Evan is known to all of his friends as “the unofficial mayor of Philadelphia”. She knew no one, and he can’t walk down the street without seeing a friendly face he recognizes. The pair met online (the “old fashioned way” as they call it!). After two dates and introductions to more friends for Beth, B+E happily became engaged and got married in Philadelphia at the Horticulture Center. Sullivan Owen worked some serious magic with Eventions to create one of the most unique and stunning sweetheart tables and backdrops we have seen to date, plus we’re still thinking about the stationery designed by Chick Invitations and Citrus Press Co. Maggpie’s furniture looked lovely as always, and M2 Photography had the perfect style for Beth and Evan. We can’t say enough glowing remarks because their March fete will always be one of our favorites of 2017!

Now Trending: We’re always asked for restaurant and venue suggestions for all of the events surrounding a wedding (think: engagement parties, bridal showers, bachelorette parties, and rehearsal dinners). So, we turned to Kerri Sitrin, Event Coordinator for Starr Restaurants. Not only does Kerri take us through her day, which includes so many stops at Starr properties around the city, but she even recommends what to order for your event. There are so many options, and you do not want to miss anything Kerri says right here!

Q: What is the best way to incorporate color into my wedding?
A: Many of our couples turn to neutrals, especially when planning outdoor weddings. However, outdoor weddings are one of the best times to introduce color. In this shoot on Every Last Detail, we paired bold berry tones with deep wood shades and plenty of greenery. The neutrals used compliment the natural shades outside, while the bright colors pop effortlessly and look like they belong!

Around Town: Whenever we think of summer, we think of road trips! And, we think you’re going to need to plan one after taking a peek at this list! In the article, Philadelphia Wedding describes some of the best barn venues in the area. From Barley Sheaf Farm, located moments from Peddler’s Village in Bucks County, to The Inn at Grace Winery, these spaces promise to make your rustic fete dreams come to life. One of the reasons we love recommending barn venues is they make you feel like you’ve found an incredible destination for your guests mere moments from the bustling city!
