Happy May to you! May is filled with plenty of reasons to celebrate. Cinco de Mayo was the perfect excuse to plan a fun date night for Mexican, Mother’s Day is right around the corner (May 14!), and the month ends with summer’s unofficial beginning, Memorial Day Weekend. Although we have three weddings to plan, style, and coordinate in May, we will definitely be taking advantage of each day offering an opportunity to plan a get together – formal or informal – with friends and family, and we encourage you to do the same!
April kicked off with a beautiful wedding at Glen Foerd on the Delaware. The venue offered a beautiful setting for the pair to start their married life together. We also celebrated not one but two features, which you will read more about below. Plus, we received what can only be coined a glowing review from our wonderful bride, Francesca! It was a month that felt short but sweet nonetheless.
May offers the chance to plan three very different weddings in three different types of settings, which is a challenge we always enjoy! We start at Eagle Manor – a former hunting lodge setting along the historic Cohansey River in Southern New Jersey. Water Works is also on the docket for May, and we always welcome the chance to return to one of Philadelphia’s most iconic venues! With its industrial style and setting amongst Philadelphia’s waterfront, La Peg was promising to be a fantastic venue for our final couple in May.

Real Wedding: Francesca and Cory’s wedding was one for the books! The pair recited their vows and celebrated with their guests at the Horticulture Center. Their ceremony was set amongst the greenhouse’s blooming plants, and guests were welcomed into the venue’s main space to mingle during cocktail hour before dinner and dancing kicked off soon after. The color palette featured mostly greenery by Falls Flowers, which allowed F+C’s Whipped Bakeshop wedding cake to appear as though it was taking center stage by the dance floor where The Don Eaton Band kept everyone on their feet for the entire night. We always love working with Pat Robinson Photography, and Pat and his team even filmed a video for Francesca and Cory that you simply have to see!

Now Trending: One of the best Friday’s happened at the end of April because our French Garden styled shoot was featured on Style Me Pretty! We teamed up with DOLA Photography for a shoot at Winterthur Museum that had a fun twist – it was tropical inspired! We turned to shades of green, Pantone’s 2017 Color of the Year, and paired them with pops of pink, yellow, orange, and ivory for a result that was bright and cheery for a spring or summer wedding.
Mod Wedding: How can couples provide the best experience for their guests?
The Styled Bride: We know it’s hard to always to find time to talk to everyone individually at the reception. We recommend saying a few words before dinner as newlyweds, thanking everyone for being a part of your special day and how much their presence means to you both. This way even if you don’t make it to someone they still know you appreciate them.
P.S: There are so many other fantastic responses from other wedding professionals in the feature!

Around Town: For couples who don’t live in Philadelphia, each trip to the city always combines a whirlwind of wedding meetings with plenty of time to explore some of the newest hotspots. One of our go-to recommendations during the spring and summer is Spruce Street Harbor Park. Between the hammocks, Garces menu, and Delaware River views, it’s become our favorite place to suggest for a relaxing night out. We just heard the park reopens on May 12!
