Happy April to you! This month always feels like it’s the heart of springtime. We can all finally (and comfortably!) begin to enjoy the outdoors and all it has to offer again, including wedding ceremonies and receptions, plus every single flower and tree blooms making Philadelphia its own Cherry Blossom oasis. Before we share everything in store for us (and you!) in April, let’s take a look back at March.
Each time we return to the Fairmount Horticulture Center, we’re always thrilled to fall back into step with the incredible Starr Events team. From Sullivan Owen and Eventions Productions magical sweetheart table design for Beth and Evan’s wedding day earlier in March to Francesca and Cory’s greenery filled soiree in the middle of the month, we were enthralled yet again with the transformations each wedding professional creates in the space. If March is any indication, 2017 is going to be filled with some of our most beautiful weddings yet!
In addition to both weddings, we were also thrilled to share Emily and Andrew’s wedding video, which was captured by Tree of Life Films! Wedding videography is always a top recommendation from us, and this team has quickly become one of our most trusted. Plus, we were featured around the web…twice! You will want to keep reading below to find out all of the details.
This month, we’re off to Glen Foerd on the Delaware, so make sure to stay tuned to Instagram and Facebook where we will be posting updates and sneak peeks! In fact, the wedding is this weekend. Plus, we have a number of meetings planned in Philadelphia and beyond as we prepare for all May and June holds for our entire team.
We hope you have a wonderful April!

Real Wedding: Hannah and David’s Fairmount Horticulture Center wedding was featured on Borrowed and Blue in March! Their wedding was as romantic as it was garden inspired, and we loved how H+D utilized the venue’s spaces. The couple’s celebration began with an indoor ceremony set inside the Horticulture Center’s greenhouse. La Petite Fleur created a lovely chuppah, which the team placed in the center to allow Hannah and David to recite their vows while surrounded by their guests. Once inside the reception space, more blooms adorned every surface in shades of soft blue, ivory, and lavender. Maggpie Vintage Rentals and Eventions Productions helped to complete the transformation, and the evening ended with ice cream from Little Baby’s Ice Cream. You don’t want to miss any of the photos captured by Teddy Wolff!

Now Trending: We know how much you love our Styled Social Media series, and we brought it back in March! We shared the photos you loved most from Instagram, and we also pulled together your favorite pins from Pinterest. Bouquets and flowers are of course some of the photos and pins topping the lists, but we also loved seeing how valuable our bachelorette party planning post continues to be for newly engaged brides and their bridesmaids!
Q: When should I start planning my wedding?
A: This is one of the questions we’re asked the most, so chatting with Over The Moon about wedding planning timelines felt like an obvious choice! In the post, Wedding Director and Owner, Susan Norcross, shared our some of our best tips for early wedding planning, such as the first steps to take after celebrating your engagement as well as the things to check off your list during the week prior to walking down the aisle. You’re going to want to bookmark this post while you plan!
Around Town: Our top suggestion this month: get outside and enjoy Philadelphia! And that includes booking an appointment at one of the many trunk shows happening throughout the city at some of the best bridal boutiques. The Wedding Pavilion at Van Cleve, Paoli is welcoming Paloma Blanca Bridal from April 10-15. Also, with dresses up to 70% off, you won’t want to miss Lovely Bride’s sample sale! Philadelphia Wedding is one of the best resources for hearing about new sales!
