Andrew and Julia met through one of Julia’s dear friends who happened to ask Andrew for directions on the street one evening in Brooklyn. In spite of the fact that he was a complete stranger she had a gut-feeling they might be a perfect match, asked for his information and decided to set them up on a blind date. They met for dinner at a cozy Italian spot and the rest is history.
Their ceremony location was meant to be in the old barn ruins with a gorgeous stone wall with cascading flowers and ivy, overlooking a peaceful pond. Everything changed when a huge rain cloud rolled in 10 minutes before the ceremony was meant to start, and we made a last minute call to corral all of our guests into the estate living room. Guests were standing shoulder to shoulder with some having to peek in from the foyer. Julia would be lying to say there wasn’t an initial pang of disappointment, but looking back she wouldn’t have had it any other way. The ceremony was so intimate and raw with an overwhelming feeling of love that filled the entire room. Her dad and his six brothers and sisters sang a medley of The Beatles “In My Life” and The Turtles “Happy Together.” When the line “How is the weather” came around, guests erupted in laughter and it’s a moment Julia will never forget
