Happy August to you! Welcome to summer’s final month, and the start of our late-summer/early-fall wedding season. While we’re putting the final touches on this month’s weddings (we’re sharing details about them below!), we thought we would take you behind-the-scenes of July.
We kicked off the month with a fun blogpost from our friends at 13th Street Cocktails. Their team creates delicious artisan style cocktails, and they graciously shared three of their prized cocktail recipes with us (and you)! Hop over to the site for details on how to make a watermelon cocktail, ginger cocktail, and cucumber cocktail. Summer may be coming to a close, but all three recipes are perfect to make this month, especially for Labor Day picnics.
Just before the Democratic National Convention kicked off, we coordinated a beautiful wedding for Jessica and Chuck! The city felt even more festive than usual, which we warmly welcomed. Faye and Renee created all of J+D’s beautiful floral arrangements, and we cannot sing the praises of Alison Dunn Photography enough. Alison was so sweet to work with, and we’re counting down until our next wedding with her. We will be posting a recap soon, but make sure to visit Alison’s blog for a peek at J+C’s fete at Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse.
In August, you will find us at the National Constitution Center, a stunning estate, the Kimmel Center, and PAFA before we kickoff Labor Day weekend at the Horticulture Center. Make sure to follow along on Instagram (we’ve posted a host of beautiful professional photos from recent weddings), Facebook, and Pinterest. From Now Trending to a Real Wedding, Q&A to Around Town, make sure to keep reading below.
Cheers to a wonderful August!

Real Wedding: Kristin and Carl met while attending Saint Joseph’s University. Although a wedding in Philadelphia was an option, Kristin knew she wanted to bring all of her family and friends together in her childhood hometown of Brooklyn. K+C dreamed of a ceremony with Lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty as the backdrop before retreating inside for their reception at Liberty Warehouse. And that’s what happened! Kristin said her favorite moments from her wedding day were the first and last dances she shared with Carl. They kicked off the reception with “Grow Old with Me” and ended the night with “Shout”. Kristin and Carl’s wedding was fabulous, and we can’t wait for you to see so many more photos from Pat Robinson on our blog.

Now Trending: Although Now Trending has long been one of our most popular blog series, we reintroduced it with a twist! Over the next few weeks, we’re going to describe a number of wedding venues and we adore them for each’s wedding’s style. Philadelphia is home to the Franklin Institute, PAFA, the Art Museum, and many more, which is why we’re encouraging you to take a peek at the first part of our series – museum weddings!

Philadelphia Wedding: “You know someone can’t come to your wedding. Should you send them an invitation anyway?”
Susan Norcross: “We agree that you send the invite. It is nice to say to a family member or guest, we still wish you could be here and acknowledge that you are important to us even though you can’t attend. Also it gives them an opportunity to also send back a gift or special note or card in the RSVP envelope and/or have an address where to send something.” Visit Philadelphia Wedding’s site for more from this post!
Around Town: Emily Wren Photography’s photo from Courtney and Jason’s wedding day was chosen as the Photo of the Week by Philadelphia Wedding! Courtney wore a stunning tulle gown, and her bridesmaids looked equally as beautiful in their BHLDN dresses. We love this sweet shot from Emily because it poured on C+J’s wedding day, but they still managed to have such an enjoyable day with their wedding party, family, and friends.
