Happy 2016! We hope you rang in the New Year with the ones you love. We spent our final day of 2015 and the very first moments of 2016 celebrating and styling for our couples. Our team was on hand for three separate weddings, which included confetti cannons and a balloon drop, respectively, at JG Domestic, The Horticulture Center, and the Please Touch Museum.  We are so excited for our 2016 wedding season! But before we jump too far ahead, let’s go behind-the-scenes of December.

We started December in the best way possible: by receiving photos from Meg Brock Photography from Meghan and Sean’s October wedding day. You must check out this stunning photo, as they braved hurricane winds to capture it! Next up is Amber and Pat’s lovely celebration at The Horticultural Center. We’re sharing more about their day in our Real Wedding section below, plus you can find even more on our blog! You also simply must see Elizabeth and Winston’s wedding video teaser – it’s a stunner. Lastly, before we paused momentarily to celebrate the holidays, we received an early Christmas present: we won The Knot Best of Weddings for 2016!

Keep reading below to find our inspiration based off of Pantone’s colors of the year, a beautiful real wedding, a fun Q&A from a Philadelphia Wedding feature, and more!

We’re ready to kick start the New Year, and we’re always so grateful to you for following along on FacebookInstagram, and Pinterest. Until next time!

Real Wedding: Amber and Pat have know each other for years, but the timing was never quite right for them to connect until Pat returned from a tour of Afghanistan in 2009. The pair have been together ever since, and we were thrilled to celebrate their union at The Horticulture Center. During their ceremony, Amber and Pat’s wedding rings were passed between guests to allow each to “warm” the rings and offer a wish or blessing for the new Mr. and Mrs. Philadelphia String Quartet played as the bridal party walked down the aisle, gorgeous florals adorned the space from Fleur de Lis, and we will continue to dream about Amber and Pat’s Momofoku NYC wedding cake for quite a while. These sweet sentiments from Amber stood out as our favorite moment from their wedding day, “I had such a supportive team of wedding professionals and my favorite planner of all time!  It was so nice to let go of my standard vice grip on control and have everything go so perfectly…” Enjoy more photos from Becka Pillmore on our blog!

Now Trending: Pantone always chooses a color of the year, but this year they chose two! Rose Quartz and Serenity are expected to reign supreme as the most popular colors for 2016. They remind us of blush, rose gold, and dusty blue, so we searched high and low for the pieces we would combine for a soft, elegant palette filled with both colors. From bridesmaids’ dresses to centerpieces, boutonnieres to table designs, you can find much more of our inspiration right here!

Around Town: This month, Philadelphia is celebratingRestaurant Week! The city is home to some of the best restaurants, and we highly recommend checking a few off of your bucket list. If you’re thinking about a weekend getaway, look no further than the just opened Logan Hotel. We can’t speak of Philly’s newest space highly enough! If dress shopping is on your agenda, check out Philadelphia Wedding for the latest sample sales including Allure, which pictured above.

Q: Envelope just introduced a new thank you note service where a computer will print typed notes for you on your behalf. Is it okay for couples to opt out of handwritten notes?

A: “Personally, I’d rather type out a sincere, personalized note that’s a bit longer than have to worry about keeping my message short due to my bad handwriting,” says our Wedding Director, Susan Norcross. We hope you will check out the entire article on Philadelphia Wedding, and then let us know your thoughts by leaving a comment on Facebook.
