The Styled Note – December

Welcome to our December edition of the Styled Note! Although the Styled Bride Team is already prepping for the holidays and a very busy New Year’s Eve, we always love pausing to share a few peeks behind the scenes from the previous month. We hope you had a wonderful November and a restful Thanksgiving holiday!

This month, we closed out our fall wedding season with a magnificent fete at the Penn Museum. Although we can’t share Elizabeth and Winston’s photos just yet, we can share Karen and Jeremy’s stunning wedding day, which also took place at the Penn Museum. We worked alongside a fantastic team of creatives to bring Karen and Jeremy’s vision to life, and we think we absolutely succeeded! You can see for yourself by continuing to read below because K+J’s wedding is our Real Wedding feature for the month.

We also welcomed the Founder and Owner of Marigold & Grey to our blog for our Styled Day Series. Jamie is a world-class welcome gift extraordinaire, and you can learn so much more about her below in Now Trending. We’re also offering a sneak peek into our bakery feature that will be live on our blog later this week just for our newsletter subscribers, plus be on the lookout for sample sale announcements below!

Our team will be welcoming the New Year alongside three respective teams of wedding professionals as we coordinate and style celebrations throughout the city on New Year’s Eve. You will absolutely want to be following along on FacebookInstagram, and Pinterest!

We can’t wait to share an exciting honor we’ve been bestowed as well as a fun editorial feature in January, but for now we wish you the very best the holiday season can bring to you and yours. Thank you for a wonderful 2015, and cheers to 2016!

Real Wedding: On their first day of their internship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Karen met Jeremy. They soon learned they shared the same area code, and as the year progressed they realized they were meant to be together. For two people who are united because of a university, it’s so fitting that they chose to say, “I do” at the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archeology and Anthropology. Together with Falls Flowers, K+J’s elegant vision was brought to life to include bouquets and arrangements full of texture and the deeper hues of autumn. Guests dined on cuisine by Restaurant Associates, and we cannot wait to share the film created by Well Spun Studios. Karen and Jeremy’s wedding is not one we will soon forget, and you can see even more photos by Amie Schroeder from their day on our blog!

Now Trending: After years spent in the corporate world, Jamie Kutchman decided to leave one world for another. So, she jumped right into owning a creative business! Marigold & Grey is an industry leader in elegant, artisan welcome baskets that are just as perfect for guests as they are for the friends and family on your holiday list. We’re so thrilled to welcome Jamie tothe Styled Bride blog for our Styled Day Series because we adore the custom and pre-made gifts she designs!

Q: What is your best piece of advice for couples as they choose their wedding cake?
A: “
The cake is one of the many parts of the wedding that can truly be personalized – have fun with it! I encourage couples to include patterns or textures from their dress or invitations, meaningful quotes or a custom topper!” – Meg, Nutmeg Cake Design
Stay tuned to our blog for even more from Philadelphia’s talented bakers and cake designers later this week!

Around Town: To ensure you embrace the fun of the holiday season, we highly recommend checking out Visit Philly’s list of 50 Essential Holiday Events in Philadelphia. Topping the list is the ice skating rink at Dilworth Park and Macy’s light show – perfect for out of town guests! There are also a host of trunk shows this month, such as Olia Zavozina, Carol Hannah, Sareh Nouri, and Watters. A few are this weekend, so make sure to visit Philadelphia Weddingand Ashe B & Co. for more!
