Happy August! We have to begin this month’s newsletter by acknowledging that the Styled Note is celebrating its first anniversary! We sent our very first note to you last August with the hope that we would be able to share the weddings we’ve designed and coordinated, blogs we’ve loved writing, and can’t miss moments from Philadelphia’s wedding scene with behind-the-scenes facts peppered throughout. We’ve received nothing short of fantastic feedback, and we’re thrilled our subscriber list has grown to include many new names as well as quite a few names we recognize each month. Last month, we snuck in two Styled features on our blog (Amy from BHLDN stopped by for Styled Spotlight and Jennie from Love ‘n Fresh Flowers shared her Styled Day!) in the middle of final wedding prep for our August weddings. From tastings to final walkthroughs, we’re getting ready to for a fun fete at the Franklin Institute this weekend, as well as a fantastic estate wedding in Maryland at the end of the month just to name a few. We also just celebrated with Elissa and Andrew at their elegant Union League wedding over the weekend. We love that Elissa changed into her dancing sneakers toward the end of the night!
We’re thrilled for our couples’ wedding days, but it means our work together is almost complete. We’re so grateful when we receive glowing reviews on The Knot from couples and their guests who say their wedding day was nothing short of everything they imagined (our New Hope Bride, Elisabeth, send us the sweetest note).
To kickoff our second year of The Styled Note, we’re sharing Kara and Boo’s wedding as a special treat for our subscribers before it’s live on our blog. Plus, we’re talking all about fruit inspired palettes in Now Trending, and announcing a new bridesmaid shop opening soon in Philadelphia that you and your ‘maids cannot miss. There’s much more below!

Real Wedding: Kara and Boo could not have enjoyed a more quintessential wedding day at the Jersey Shore! Filled with rustic wood beams and plenty of light, the couple met their guests in Avalon at The Maris Stella Chapel where Kara and her dad were elated for their walk down the aisle together. After the ceremony, the newlyweds drove away to their classically chic seaside reception at The Reeds at Shelter Haven in Boo’s convertible Porsche complete with cans attached. We would be remiss if we didn’t point out Kara’s Oscar de la Renta gown (she chose it because the back reminded her of ocean waves) and her bridesmaids’ bow-adorned dresses. We can’t wait to share more of K + B’s wedding on our blog, but you can already see more in photographer Marie Labbancz’s recaps here, here, + here!
Now Trending: We dreamed up how we would style a summer wedding inspired by fruit on our blog. Think about serving fruit-infused water, spritzers, or cocktails before your ceremony; include blueberries in boutonnieres and bouquets; and finish off your look with peach centerpieces. Of course, serving grilled fruit or popsicles is mandatory, too!
Q: Do you have a go-to makeup look you recommend to summer brides?
A: Yes! Makeup artist Beke Beau favors coral shades for cheeks and lips and a touch of bronzer. Nina Moran from Cheekadee looks to the Naked 3 Palette by Urban Decay for a soft, romantic look accompanied by bronzer for a natural glow, a pop of color for cheeks, and her favorite lip stain, Cling Peach by MAC. Around Town: We’re thrilled to announce Bella Bridesmaid is opening a shop in downtown Philadelphia!
