The Styled Note : May

Happy May! With so many weddings on the horizon, we especially loved pressing pause to celebrate a few of our couples featured on some of our favorite wedding websites!

We’ve mentioned Lauren and John’s stunning rustic wedding in a previous edition of The Styled Note, and we were thrilled to relive each moment again as their day graced the pages of
Style Me Pretty. Kaveri and Michael’s spring Horticultural Center wedding was also featured on The Knot, but you will have to keep reading below to find out more about their beautiful wedding day.

On our blog, we shared
how to design a wedding with spring’s most popular earth-based colors in mind, and two more features from our blog are highlighted below. We also revealed new editions of some of your favorite features – Styled Spotlight andStyled Social Media. We loved chatting with talented Iron Chef Jose Garces for April’s Styled Spotlight. In his interview Jose notes, “Food has a powerful way of bringing people together – togetherness at the table was one of the elements that initially drew me into cooking.  We love being part of a celebration or special day.” We couldn’t agree more, and we’re so grateful to Jose for sharing his insight with us (and you!).

We’re always struck by the juxtaposition of venues in Philadelphia, especially in May as we enter into the final days of preparation for a number of weddings, including a ballroom fete at The Ritz Carlton as well as a tented celebration filled with natural elegance. With that in mind, make sure to keep following along on social media where we’ll be taking you behind the scenes on
Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest. Have a great month!

Real Weddings: Photographed by Marie Labbancz, we have to share Kaveri and Michael’s wedding with you because it was just featured on The Knot! Lawyers Kaveri and Michael married last spring in an interfaith wedding complete with Hindu and Jewish ceremonies and traditions. We loved both of Kaveri’s gorgeous saris that she wore to her Hindu ceremony and reception, respectively. Filled with a palette of eye-catching bright colors and metallics, their reception followed at the Horticultural Center. The coral and white florals designed by Beautiful Blooms were a lovely accent to the couple’s palette, and catering by Stephen Starr is never to be missed. Make sure to visit The Knot to see the rest of the feature!

Now Trending: Bouquets are always trending, but we especially love the bouquets Philadelphia florists create during the spring. We welcomed Beautiful Blooms, Falls Flowers, Fleur de Lis, Love ‘n Fresh Flowers, and Robertson’s Flowers to our blog to share their favorite spring bouquets they’ve designed. Each florist’s take is different, but peonies, ranunculus, roses, and bright colors are favorites across the board. Learn more about the flowers they love and how they create bouquets to match a wedding’s style on our blog!

Q: Our venue and caterer are both asking which table style we would like to use at our wedding. What are the different table styles, and can you explain the difference?
A: There are six table styles that will likely be mentioned to you as you design your reception space. The most popular style is round tables. Rounds create an easy atmosphere for your guests to be able to talk with each other, plus they are typically the most budget-friendly. For weddings that are a bit more rustic, we love using farmhouse tables. And, a sweetheart table just for you and your love is perfect for any style of celebration. Find out more right here!
