Similar to our rehearsal dinner venue guide, we have narrowed down our favorites and compiled a list of our top 10 venues to host your same sex wedding. Whether you’re dreaming of an elegant wedding in Philadelphia or a non-traditional fete in Bucks County, we’re sure you’ll find a venue that matches your ideal wedding’s style below!
Hotels:
Hotel Monaco: One of Philadelphia’s trendiest hotels, you and your guests will feel as though you’re celebrating in one of the most creative spaces in the city.
Why we love it: The hotel is in the heart of the historic district, perfect for any out of town guests. Plus it hosts one of the city’s best rooftop spots, Stratus, a perfect place to continue your evening.
The Ritz Carlton, Philadelphia: This space mixes modern design with elegance seamlessly. It also located conveniently next to City Hall for that all important photo op we know you want….
Why we love it: It’s classic, it’s elegant and the service is unparalleled. We also love the option of hosting your wedding in a converted vault or on a balcony overlooking the city lights.
Restaurants:
Positano Coast: Inspired by Italy’s Amalfi Coast, expect modern takes on Italian cuisine and bright and modern décor.
Why we love it: Italian cuisine is loved by almost everyone, so this restaurant is sure to please your guests. Plus, we love that it’s a smaller venue making it a great choice for intimate weddings or rehearsal dinners in the heart of the city.
Marsha Brown’s: Located on Main Street in New Hope, PA, plan to escape the city and welcome your guests to one of Bucks County’s most-loved gems for your wedding.
Why we love it: New Hope is Bucks County’s most eclectic town, and Marsha Brown’s fits right in. The Southern-inspired restaurant is housed in a converted church with stunning décor perfect for an onsite ceremony, reception, or rehearsal dinner.
Venues, Museums & More :
Philadelphia Cricket Club: Located a short distance outside of the heart of Center City, the Cricket Club boasts a formal ballroom, expansive porch, and a lot of outdoor space.
Why we love it: Rain or shine, the porch is a perfect place to welcome your guests during cocktail hour. Plan to have lawn games on site for everyone to enjoy before entering into the bright ballroom for a night of dinner and dancing.
Penn Museum: Located on the University of Pennsylvania’s campus, the architecture of this venue is both classic and completely elegant.
Why we love it: The location and architecture are spot on, but we also love the variety of spaces – rotundas, galleries, and courtyards galore!
Kimmel Center: One of Philadelphia’s most iconic spaces, this venue is a perfect choice whether you adore performance art or beautiful architecture.
Why we love it: Garces Catering caters all weddings, and they serve some of the most delicious offerings in the city. Also, think about welcoming your guests into the Dorance H. Hamilton Garden, which is an atrium space located on the rooftop!
One Atlantic: Head to Atlantic City for a wedding both modern, elegant, and vibrant when you opt to host your fete at this stunning venue located inside The Pier at Caesars.
Why we love it: There’s nothing better than pausing for a moment to watch the sun set over the sand and sea. Plus there are attractions galore for you and your guests to enjoy.
Horticultural Center: This venue is located within Philadelphia’s famed Fairmount Park, and you should plan on celebrating in a greenhouse.
