Food trucks to caterer a wedding? That’s what we thought when one of our brides told us she that is how she planned to feed her 150 guests. To be honest we were skeptical at first but once we met with group over The Sunflower Truck Stop our concerns were put to rest.
So, how did we do it?
Well, first we made sure we had a variety of food. Sunflower passed an amazing array of hors d’ oeuvres (like mini- lobster rolls- my personal favorite!) on long cedar planks and in little paper boats so guests could easily access them. Second the Sunflower Cafe, Farm Truck and Sum Pig added to the decor but guests didn’t go up to them to retrieve dinner. We had the food come to them table side which made for quicker and easier service. We added a stationary display for cake and cookies ( not provided by the trucks) . Lastly, an ice cream truck from Petrucci’s joined the dinner trucks for a refreshing treat. The trucks then served a late night egg and cheese to go as guests departed for the evening.
Obviously this set up doesn’t work for all, as this couple had lots of land for the trucks to park and guests were in an outdoor tent. But if you are looking for a fun, relaxed, inexpensive ( yes that too!) and tasty way to feed you and you guests this is one great alternative to a sit down dinner!
